Tutorials

Whilst learning to code and make video games with GameMaker, I found particular parts of the process quite challenging - but as with most things - it’s not so difficult once you know how.  I used a lot of other peoples tutorials which were very useful for me - and still are!  But I found some areas were not covered so well and some tutorials were out of date, so hopefully my videos can help grow this community and cover some of these gaps. They will be available on YouTube and I will also post them here, keeping them in neat sets as they expand.
Latest Update: 06/11/16 Part Five is up and the Introduction Tutorial Series is complete!  These are my first ever tutorials - so constructive feedback is welcome.  Hopefully they will get better as I go along.  If there are any tutorials you would like to see, please get in contact and I’ll see what I can do. Introduction to GameMaker This tutorial series covers day one with GameMaker.  It is aimed at those, who like me, wanted to make their own video games and downloaded GameMaker - but had no idea what to do next.  The series takes someone through from the general layout of GameMaker, to making their first basic game using Drag and Drop.  It is based on the Game Maker’s Apprentice book ‘Evil Clutches’ tutorial, but I have updated the tutorial as some of the original tutorial no longer works (due to GameMaker changing since the book was published).  These videos also fill in some of the gaps the book left out, such as stopping the character from being able to go off the screen!
